HEY, I’M KEN…
I’m a Canadian living in Toronto with my wife and our two daughters. We’re an active, outdoor-loving family. Hockey has always been a big part of our lives. My daughters played competitive hockey growing up, and I still play a few times a week.
We also love the mountains and make skiing a priority each year, particularly in British Columbia.
In the summer, we slow things down with cottage life a few hours north of Toronto, something both my wife and I grew up with and continue to value deeply. Staying active, healthy, and present with my family matters most to me, and it’s shaped the way I prioritize my work and lifestyle.

A CAREER THAT LOOKED SOLID - BUT FELT UNCERTAIN: My background is in marketing. After completing a Bachelor of Journalism, a Master’s in Canadian Studies, and an MBA with a focus on marketing, I worked with several global brands across consumer goods and alcoholic beverages.
Over the years, I led marketing for well-known names such as Glad, Brita, Smirnoff, Tanqueray, Jose Cuervo, Glenfiddich, and The Kraken. From the outside, my career looked successful and stable. But beneath that, I experienced something different - a lack of control.
Time and again, roles changed or ended due to decisions beyond my influence. While the work itself was rewarding, the uncertainty made it clear that my future wasn’t fully in my own hands.
THE BUILD, THE BURN, AND THE NEED FOR OWNERSHIP: Those experiences led me to build businesses of my own, including a rum brand and an experiential agency. While both ventures taught me valuable lessons, they also came with new challenges.
Partnerships didn’t work out, and I found myself spending too much time managing the day-to-day grind, without a clear roadmap for growth.
The real turning point was realizing I wanted full ownership and control over my direction and results, without doing it alone. I wanted structure, clarity, and a model that allowed me to work on the business, not be consumed by it.

A NEW CHAPTER WITH CLARITY AND DIRECTION: I was introduced to this business at a time when I was actively reassessing what I wanted to build next.
